Penguin Street Big Band allows the listener to travel back in time to the Golden Age of Big Band (20’s, 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s) when magnificent bands led by Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, and Duke Ellington graced the stage. Penguin Street Big Band is comprised of 17 skilled musicians who are devoted to keeping the classic swing big band style and legacy alive.

Beyond the amazing music and skilled players, Penguin Street Big Band sets itself apart from others through its dedication to inspiring, developing, and promoting young musicians. Band members are led and mentored by professional musicians and music educators. They are also given the opportunity to play and perform with their peers in a classic style. Band members range in age from 16 to 25 and come from many walks of life. Penguin Street Big Band is all about education, inspiration, and, most of all, wonderful music.
